Hello!

Not Your Average Jane is a blog set up to give you ideas on not your average places to see, things to do, drink and eat all over the world.

THE PRINCE LONDON

THE PRINCE LONDON

After work on Friday a few friends and I decided to check out The Prince; the team behind Pergola’s new venture.

We booked a table a month in advance so that we wouldn’t have to worry about queuing (having learnt from our past experience when visiting the popular Pergola on The Roof and Pergola Paddington). We signed up to their mailing list and were sent a free drinks voucher, which we redeemed at the bar. The frozen margarita was so delicious we spent the rest of the night drinking these, which cost £7 each (Free entry and frozen margarita cocktail when you sign up to the mailing list)! The Prince is situated in a collection of four buildings on a street in West Brompton. These have been converted into 4 restaurants and 2 bars, with a “secret” garden connecting them all. The main seating area is styled like an English garden, with their trademark Pergola covered in artificial flowers and a retractable roof so you can enjoy come rain or shine.

We absolutely loved the décor; pretty feminine flower covered walls, flowers hanging from the Pergola-basically flowers everywhere! Shabby chic large mirrors and cool neon signs were also in abundance.

The venue is immense, so even though it was really busy, with all the tables full and a fair few people congregating around the bar, you didn’t feel crammed in. It had a really nice vibe, with the crowd mainly being young professionals. To eat I opted for a Hot Chic Chicken Burger and Chips with Rosemary Salt from Patty & Bun which came to £12. It was absolutely delicious, I love buttermilk chicken! I’d definitely recommend this unique space for a few drinks on an evening or on a hot summers day. I wouldn’t say that it’s ideal for a pre-drinks place as it closes at 11:30pm and we didn’t see anywhere to continue the night after that, it’s more of a chilled one.
