Hello!

Not Your Average Jane is a blog set up to give you ideas on not your average places to see, things to do, drink and eat all over the world.

GODS OWN JUNKYARD LONDON

GODS OWN JUNKYARD LONDON

I’m always looking for new and exciting things to see and do around London, even better when I find something that’s free! Gods Own Junkyard is situated in an unsuspecting industrial estate,  just a few minutes walk from Walthamstow Village, North East London. Walking into the vast warehouse space were every possible surface is covered in a cocktail of neon lights, it is a shock to the senses; a place of euphoria. The warehouse exhibits an eclectic mix of salvaged neon signs, old movie props and retro displays that the Bracey family have made and collected; a family business passed down through generations. Navigate yourself through the gallery down the narrow and winding aisles to look over artworks featured in Vogue magazine and films such as Stanley Kubrick’s 'Eyes Wide Shut'. Treat yourself to a piece of cake and cup of tea at the Rolling Scones Café surrounded by a dazzling array of even more colourful neon lights, or take your drink into the garden; sit on a table with a mushroom and listen to the water trickling out of rusted barrels!
